Balang is a commune in Cambodia that has been living under the poverty line due to decades of civil war, government corruption, and political unrest in the country. This program connects and inspires people to get involved in the Balang community. It provides information about Balang history, volunteer opportunities, and a portal for collecting donations.
2nd Place - 22 and Under
This free, web-based program allows teachers to assign student grades for multiple classes and subjects, online. Teachers can create lesson plans, track student lesson progress, run student reports, take attendance, and send notifications to students and parents - all online. Gradebook works on any computer as well as on iPad, iPhone, Blackberry, and Android devices.
3rd Place - 22 and Under
This city-simulation game teaches players how a community can make better environmental choices. Players must earn money to build a research center. They do this by selling carbon offsets to neighboring towns, researching green energy solutions, and greening their community while simultaneously evaluating their city's CO2 levels.

Players must earn enough money through farming and mining to repair damaged public facilities. To be successful, they must complete five reconstruction missions and several heart-warming mini-games along the way.

The application also features a Flash-based typing tutorial, that helps users to master the keyboard, an essential skill for developers.

This application makes it easy to support a non-profit organization. The team gathered information from Facebook to create organizational profiles, including program descriptions, locations, and website links. They then categorized the profiles, making it easy for users to find and connect with organizations that match their criteria.
