Team Collaboration
The topic was chosen by one team member who has been learning Classical Indian dance for seven years and is very in tune with the bollywood dance style. This being the case, she focused on writing excerpts on the forms of classical dance, and the application of these styles in Bollywood dance performances/shows/movies. Another team member, who was less aware of the bollywood scene, used her computer skills, and expert knowledge of Dreamweaver to collect the different parts of the websites created by the members of the group to artfully weave them together in an organized manner. She also handled creating links and making the entire website more cohesive in general. Yet another, who was knowledgeable about Bollywood movies and dances used her information to create websites that showed a general background of the subject. She also created other pages with specific information regarding Bollywood dance styles. Our last member, another Classical Indian dancer, used her expertise to create the homepage and other specific pages of our website.
Team Diversity
Each member of the group is from South Asia but our families came from different areas. One is from South India (Bangalore) another is from Hyderbad, Our third is from Sri Lanka, and the last is from Bangladesh. Although we are all from the same region, the differences in where our families originated played a role in our knowledge of the different aspects of Bollywood Dance. Classical Indian dance is more prevelant in South India so our team mate from that area was more aware of the classical elements of Bollywood dance. Our other dancer was more knowledgeable about Kuchipudi, a northern dancing style. Our non dancers were more aware of the contemporary and western styles that have begun to infiltrate the Bollywood film industry. And our last team mates family's orign limited her in her knowledge of bollywood dance. Despite this, she played a critical role in putting the website together.
