Team Collaboration

The 4 students worked closely together to ensure that the project was completed to the best of their ability. Robert and Ciara were able to use their Literacy skills to write the descriptions abut the community. Madeleine completed the Art work and relied on Robert to upload the pictures and photographs. Ciara, Robert and Madeleine each took photographs. Gemma was responsible for keeping an ongoing record of the teams actions and successful work. She relied on Ciara and Robert to check her written work when she had finished. We felt it important that Gemma should keep the diary record as she didn't have the internet and wouldn't be able to upload photographs and contribute in other ways at home. Also, as she was the quietest member of the group and didn't really express many opinions, we felt that her job suited her.

Team Diversity

The 4 students all live in Port Kennedy, but they come from slightly different backgrounds and have had different experiences of life in Port Kennedy. Ciara lives the closest to the Beach and has an active outdoor life, which she was able to draw upon when completing her part of the project - Views upon Graffiti, the beach etc.. Also because she had joined us from another school, she had a better idea of what makes a good school and she was able to write about this in the project.

Robert and Madeleine come from families that play a part in the local community. They regularly visit the local Community Centre for special events and this has enabled them to draw upon personal experiences of the good things in Port Kennedy and write about them in the Project.

Due to the fact that Gemma doesn't choose to spend much time in the local community participating in outdoor games and events and would rather spend time indoors with her family, we felt that she didn't have enough experience to write about the good and bad points in the community. The other Think Quest students were able to draw on previous experiences and because of Madeleine and Robert's links with the local community, they were able to speak to a wide variety of people to gain their opinins and perspectives of Port Kennedy.
