Totem Poles and Their Stories

An introduction to totem poles which are an important part of Northwest Indian culture. We explored the history of totem poles, how they are made, provided some examples of totem poles, their stories and the background of two carvers. The educational objective is to provide a website that will provide the viewer with a basic understanding of totem poles. The viewer will understand how totem poles are made, why Indian cultures created them, and to view examples of authentic totem poles that can be found in the Pacific NW, British Columbia and Alaska.
