'The Open Source Weekend' is an attempt to acquaint students to the world of free/open source software. To this effect, the site gives detailed instructions and tips on how to switch to open source software from proprietary ones, with advantages being spelled out. The site also goes on explain the philosophy behind the free/open source movement.
