Voices and Visions: Children's Rights

2001
The issue of children's rights has been catapaulted into the limelight in recent times. Inevitable is the issue that in 1989, the United Nations held a conference specifically on the rights of children. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)was drawn up, and is at present the most widely ratified international human rights treaty. Our site explores the issues covered in that treaty, as well as social issues related to the survival, protection, development and participation rights of children. At the same time, action tutorials are provided to help children advocate for their rights. This was a site made by children for children. Make no mistake though, even the most informed of adults can learn a thing or two by perusing our pages.
