Our entry aims at letting our visitors learn more about radioactivity and develop interest in this topic. We allow our visitors to read the information in any order they like so quick accessibility to each individual section is always one of our concerns. We also include a glossary to help our visitors learn in a sweatless way. In our entry, we talk about the discovery and development of some important ideas as well as the experiments leading to the conclusions. To further our visitors' understanding of the topic, we go on to talk about the three types of radiation- alpha, beta and gamma. Their nature, ionizing ability, penetrating power, deflection in magnetic field, speed and range in air are discussed. Besides presenting the scientific concepts in words, we also include descriptions of a series of practical experiments with photos, diagrams, animations and videos. The summary table at the end helps to list out the main points. Other topics include radioactive decay, half-life of nuclides, background radiation. In order to make our knowledge "alive", we talk about a wide range of applications of radioactivity in our daily life, from medicine, archaeology, industry, military to agriculture etc. We include Einstein's theory of relativity to explain the nuclear energy coming from nuclear fusion and nuclear fission. The possible hazards brought about by the radioactivity technology are also discussed. Our visitors can express their opinions on any related issues, including new findings, comments on our site etc. on our message board. Last but not least, we have an interactive section with quiz and game for our visitors to enjoy and to learn.
