Have you ever dreamt of leaving our solar system? With today's technologies of space-flight we cannot realize our dream. However, promising technologies already exist on the drawing boards, and in the future mankind could achieve the interstellar space travel.We want to investigate one realistic interstellar propulsion technology: laser-pushed lightsails. With this method it should be possible to perform a manned space travel to a near fixed star within an astronauts's lifetime. Of course it is neither easy nor cheap to realize our dream, however it is not impossible.
