Team Collaboration
The team got together and discussed about our theme "Traditional Costumes". Each person was allocated a task and everyone did their part, like researching and designing of webpage. With unity and strength, we managed to complete the work before the given deadline. Howver, we had some difficulties, such as we did not have in-depth knowledge of HTML and coding the website posed quite a challenge. After consulting our teachers, we were able to code the website successfully.
Also, we had a problem on deciding the theme. We all had many different opinions about the theme we should do and it took some time before we decided on a theme, which is "Traditional Costumes". We chose this after exploring the objectives and other factors about the other themes/topics.
Team Diversity
Our team consists of students of various ages, from 14-16 year olds. We have different opinions and personal strengths; some of us want our website calming and relaxing, whereas some others our website something hip and cool. Some of our members are better at doing research and some excelled at design. By having a group that is diverse, we have a variety of talents and design tastes which will make our website more attractive. Our design, the diary is a mixture of a personal touch while having a global view; a hybrid from the differing views of relaxing and hip-cool design. Also, having our different abilities, some of us designed the template, while others focused on research. We have a very talented artist who drew out all the design of the costumes for us to use. By having a diverse team, we are able to spilt the project into sections and having each of us showcase our talents to the maximum. Our research comes from a wide variety, ranging from websites online, to books and fashion magazines, so that we can compare and contrast the unique ethnic dresses from all around the world. Having a wide variety of sources will mean that we have new information to share on our website and not just the easily found information that is common everywhere. Also, as our theme is dresses around the world, we have the chance to experience the different cultures, thus able to understand more about the people around the world. For example, places located at Mediterranean climates such as Japan and Scotland, they have a very different culture as compared to the tropical monsoon climates such as India. This made our website more globalize, seeing the world in a diverse view. This will make the readers of our website develop a global perspective and thus understand the world better.
