Have you ever seen the vast and green Salt Lake and the multi-colored and shaped and jady salt crystal? Do you know how the edible salt is made from the Qarhan Salt Lake in Qinghai, what other minerals are produced from the Salt Lake and why the Qarhan Salt Lake is reputed as a white treasure lake? If your answer is no, let’s take a scientific exploration to a world of salt. The main stage activities and page structure include: Activity I: The Salt Lake described in words is the propeller of our travel to it. 1.Inspiration of our interest in the Salt Lake by reading some model essays. 2.Establishment of my own database using indices. Teaching objectives of this project and expected results: We may have known something about the Salt Lake from legends, stories and its history. But some of us may not have the chance to go in depth into the essence and the mystery of the Salt Lake culture throughout all his/her life. However, it is still our earnest expectation to provide an utmost opportunity to our students for their active study through such interesting activities like Chinese learning, field study, expert interview and experiments with the assistance of the “thinkquest”. These activities are designed to lead them to seek the truth under the surface, raise up questions frankly, learn the knowledge actively and learn to communicate with others through an easy, think independently, do planned teamwork, help them acquire positive emotional experience and develop their spirit of exploration. What’s more, we hope the children can feel the nature with their heart, feel the change, the grandness and vastness of the Salt Lake, thus they are enlightened to love, appreciate and respect the nature and bear the responsibility of nature protection.

Junna: As lovely as she is, Junna is a 10-year old girl. She has strong consciousness and oral expressive capability at her age. She can operate the computer well and think in calmness. And she is good at using her mind, so it is perfect to assign her tasks like survey, interpretation and sorting of experimental results.

Luke: As young as 10 years old, Luke is an observant and meditative boy interested in maths and intensive study. He is quick in discovering problems. He is especially excellent learner via Internet and photographing. So he is very suitable for photographing, experiments and work summarization.

Susan: Susan is a 9-year-old girl. She has a good moral character. Being clever and efficient, she takes good care of things and is always pleased to help others. As she is also responsible, she could be assigned to the tasks of note-taking, experiments and making preparation.

Toy: Toy is an excellent 10-year-old boy. He’s optimistic, aggressive, quick-minded and not afraid of being defeated. He takes good care of his job. As observant as he is, Toy is perfect to take tasks of planning, communication and taking notes.

Jason: Jason, a 9-year-old boy, has wide interests and is passionate to others. He likes to communicate with others. He has good performance in maths and he can make quick and accurate calculation. So he would be excellent in such jobs as negotiations, recording and interview.

Tom: As lovely and lively as he is, Tom is a 10-year-old boy. He is responsible for the sanitation in his class. He is keen on sports, especially on skateboard. Piecing together a robot toy is his favorite and he is so skillful that even senior high school students cannot perform better than him. He is willing to take the jobs of liaison, data collection and sorting.

MY Team members from diffrent school.Such as:Assistant Coach Miss Zhao and Tom ,also Jason from Qinghai Xining Nanfang Primary School.The other members from Qinghai Xining South Street Primary School. But we both love travel and love Qinghai,love China,love language.Although we have different personalities,but we are both optimistic, aggressive, quick-minded and not afraid of being defeated. We are gender different form of thinking that we complement each other.So we learned each other,Through this activity, we have many different harvest!Someone learned to Travelnotes,someone learned to Experiments,somrone learned to Interview,somrone learned to Question raising,somrone learned to Observing ,somrone learned to data collection ,somrone learned to Photo taking !Somrone learned to summing-up !It's exciting to close cooperation and task accomplishment.So my team's Project is Interesting about Our Miraculous Travel to the Salt Lake.
