Over 8,000 websites created by students around the world who have participated in a ThinkQuest Competition.
This Survival Site gives statistical information, preparation for an emergency, and what to do when confronted with ten possible disasters. These disasters include: a boating mishap, vehicle breakdown or accident, plane emergency, tornadoes, hurricanes, lost in the woods, fires, earthquakes, floods, and lightning. After reading each section an online quiz will test you to determine if you learned the important facts given in each report. This site also includes questions and activities for two books, Hatchet and The Cay. Both of these books center around a survival theme. Another section has short stories about real people who have been in disasters. You may add to this section with your story. HOPEFULLY ONE OF THESE SURVIVAL STORIES WILL SAVE A LIFE. A section on survival kits shows you what you need to have on hand in case of an emergency. Seven online games give the site a fun way to learn about survival.
