Female Genital Mutilation
2002
In every culture, children are expected to listen and obey to their parents. This is said because according to society; parents know what’s best for their children. However, what kind of parent forces his/her daughter to a painful process in which her genitals will be circumcised. Female genital mutilation is the process in which a female’s sexual organs are removed to honor the family name and earn the respect of others. There are different types of mutilations such as circumcision, excision, and infibulation. The circumcision operation is thought to be the mildest; the infibulation is the most painful. Regardless of how mild it may be, it should be stated that all these mutilations are done without anesthesia everywhere around the world, especially in Africa.
