Time and Relativity
1999
The main objective of the site is to introduce anyone to the world of modern physics. Relativity is a first step into that and that's why we chose it. We want to introduce anyone to Relativity, without confusing them with complicated math formulas, just covering the main ideas and results in a simple fashion. We focus on time relativity since it is probably the most interesting part of the subject. When studying relativity, the reader finds a new way of thinking about the world and the universe. Anyone interested in physics becomes fascinated with relativity. Like discovering ice cream for the first time, discovering Relativity is a great joy. We want to pass that joy on to anyone with access to the internet. Perhaps one ugly part of relativity is that sometimes it goes against common sense, so accordingly we have tried to approach Relativity in such a way as to encourage the reader to begin to think differently. A major objective is to open the reader's mind to 'not-absolutes'. Our other major objective was to make the site accessible to everyone. We have a high-tech version and a low-tech version. Not everyone has the latest technology, and we understand this.
