The Witchcraft Stew

1999
The origins of witchcraft came from "The Cult of Diana" or in other terms,"Goddess Worship", or "Witchcraft" begun about 35 thousand years ago. The only written record found is called "La Vecchia Religione". This is said to be one of the oldest religions found today that we can refer to. It begins about 8000 years ago in the Pyrenees mountains, between France and Spain. Prior to 800 BC, people following this religion traveled into northern Europe and were brought into the gothic tribes. These tribes spread throughout Europe and later invaded the British Isles. The three different tribes which migrated were the Celts, Saxons, and Normans. Around 200 BC, there was another group of these migrates who came to Northern Europe as well. They were the descendants of the earlier immigrants of Northern Europe. Taking apart the word "witchcraft", the word "witch" itself comes from the word "wicce". The word "wicce" means women and comes from the ancient Language of the Old Saxon. A male to whom practices this religion is still called a witch NOT a warlock. These terms are often confused.
