Dracula and Vlad Tepes - myth and history

2001
Our entry's purpose is to debate the disputed problem of Dracula's myth. Was he really a vampire? Actually, we tell you our opinion in this matter. We think that the myth of Dracula was created by certain writers that neglected the fact that they may destroy the glory of the brave Romanian ruler, Vlad the Impaler, and we try, as much as we can, to reestablish this glory. On the other hand, we invite you to communicate us your opinion about this subject, via Internet, sending messages on our e-mail addresses, which you can find in the "About Us" section of the entry. We have also written a chapter concerning the creation and the development of this myth, from the source (the life and the reign of Vlad the Impaler), passing through literature (analyzing books like the novel "Dracula by Bram Stoker") and finishing with the movies we see today at the cinema. Besides this information, you can learn many more things. You can find out how Europe was in the XV-th century. You can also find out aspects from the history of some famous places, like Bran Castle and you can discover were Vlad the Impaler was buried. You can also relax with some little games that we have put on our entry and you can check the knowledge you gained by completing a quiz.

Classical Greek Mythology

1999
Many people have writtenon the exploits of the mythical gods and goddesses, and titans some of whom existed in teh imagination of the ancient Greeks, although they once existed as humans who probably had extraordinary lives. These stories have being passed down from generation with slight variations. Greek mythology, in its present-day sense, is a means of understanding the lives of the "Titans". It also teahes us to learn from the mistakes made bu the gods. As unlike many other religions (like Judaism and Hiduism), the gods have human characters and behaviour, but posses super human strenghs such as Atlas who was punished and told to carry the world on his shoulders. Below is a list of the popular gods. Greek names Roman names Aphrodite Venus Apollo Apollo Ares Mars Artemis Diana Asclepius Aesculapius Athena Minerva Cronus Saturn Demeter Dionysus Bachus Eros Cupid Gaea Terra Hephaestus Vulcan Many variations of the tales exist due to the different writeups by poets like Homer and Hestiod. As this is just a short description of the proposed entry, the website promised to have interactive games, information on all the gods, goddesses, humans and Nymphs that existed in the mythical land of Olympus

Greek & Roman Myths

1999
Our web site is on Greek and Roman myths. We think that this will be a chance to go back in time and really learn and teach. This has given us the opportunity to make a highly educational page. Greek and Roman myths are part of world wide history and are studied in nations in all the continents therefore, everyone can relate and have some input. As time passes, we start to learn less and less about Greek and Roman myths and they become more distant. Our group is able to show the importance of the old myths and how they relate to modern day people. This subject is needed yet there are few sites about them on the world wide web so it is more likely to be used. The stories told by the ancient people of the Mediterranean had romance, magic, and action. There is something for everyone. We compare Greek and Roman myths to modern stories and tails. We have a variety of sources to use so our information is accurate. This web site can be used for reports, school, or pure pleasure. The Greek and Roman myths is very educational yet it is still intriguing for children (and adults for that matter) of all ages.

Our educative propouse is to make know in a fun way, to everyone that enters to our page, our culture by these legends, histories and customes. By other way, to make know our land, wich for us is a hidden treasure , that we want to show, that is the main reason that made ourselves participate in Thinkquest.
