Pages Types & Restrictions
There are two types of pages within ThinkQuest Projects:
- Project pages: Project pages offer space to create content for projects.
- Project pages appear within a project.
- Every project has a project summary page, which includes a description of the project, information about whether project membership is open or closed, a list of calendar events scheduled for the current date (visible only to project members), and a log of recent project activity.
- In addition to the project summary page, a project can hold up to 25 pages.
- Any member of a project can create content on that project's pages.
- Personal pages: Personal pages offer space for you to create content that is not related to any projects.
- Your personal pages appear under your My Home tab. Note that District Administrators and Organization Moderators do not have personal pages.
- Every member has a My Work page, which serves as the landing page under the My Home tab. This page displays all the content you've created on personal pages and projects, so that visitors can view a summary of your contributions to ThinkQuest Projects in one place.
- Every member also has a My Activity page, which displays a log of activity related to your personal pages and projects. Visitors cannot see this page.
- In addition to your My Work and My Activity pages, you can create up to 25 personal pages.
- You are only person who can create, edit, and delete content on your personal pages (other members can contribute to interactive items that you create, but cannot create any content themselves). The only exception is that teachers can delete inappropriate content created by their students.
Please note the following restrictions on who can view pages:
- Content on project pages can be set so that it is visible only to members of the project or visible to the entire ThinkQuest Projects community.
- Content on personal pages can be set so that it is visible only to you or visible to the entire ThinkQuest Projects community.
- Members from schools that have access to the World Community can view the personal pages and projects of any other member, except for members from schools that do not have access to the World Community.
- Members from schools that do not have access to the World Community can only view the personal pages and projects of members in their own school.
- Teachers can restrict who can contribute to interactive items (such as message boards) on any of their personal pages. See the Create a Personal Page section below for details.
- District Administrators cannot view any personal pages or projects.
- Organization Moderators can only view personal pages of students and teachers from partner schools. In addition, Moderators can only view projects created by their own organization and projects with members from partner schools.
