Report Content
Teachers, administrators, and students can report content created by a student in
any school if they believe it is inappropriate or violates ThinkQuest's
safety rules. When teachers and administrators report a content item it is removed from the view of students (except for the student who created it). Teachers will still be able to see the content, along with a notation indicating that it has been reported, the name of the teacher who reported it, and the reason.
Content reported by a student remains visiable and all teachers at the content author's school will receive an
Inappropriate Content message.
Reported content is added to the
Review Content list at the content author's school.
To report content:
- Navigate to the page with the inappropriate content.
- Click Report Misuse on the left side of the page.

Delete Inappropriate Content
Teachers can immediately delete inappropriate content created by a student in their school or projects. (Teachers cannot delete content created by students who are not in their schools or projects; rather, they must report the content.)
Warning! Deleted content cannot be recovered under any circumstances.
Once the content is deleted, it cannot be recovered. Therefore, teachers may want to discuss the inappropriate content with the offending student before deleting it, or print a copy for discussion with the student later.
To delete inappropriate content:
- Navigate to the page with the inappropriate content.
- Click Report Misuse on the left side of the page.
- Click the Delete button next to the inappropriate content.
- In the pop-up window, type the reason you are deleting the content and click the Delete Content button.
- The content will immediately be deleted and a message with the reason will be sent to the student.
Safety Quiz
If a student's content has been reported, that student must pass an online Safety Quiz the next time s/he logs in to ThinkQuest Projects. The quiz consists of five randomly-generated questions that help remind students of the
Safety Rules. The student must answer all five questions correctly before proceeding.
Once all questions have been correctly answered, the student is given the option to either delete or leave the reported content (if s/he wishes to edit it to remove the violation). This option is not displayed if the reported content has already been deleted by a teacher.
