Step 6: Results

Celebrating Completion

At the end of the ThinkQuest Narrative Competition, your students will be ready to celebrate their hard work and significant accomplishments. Here are some ideas for making everyone feel like a winner regardless of the official results:
  • Present each student with an award or certificate. You can create special awards that are specific to each student, such as awards for "Best Team Player," "Excellence in Leadership," or "Most Creative." Older students might also benefit from a formal recommendation letter that they could use in a college application.
  • If your budget allows it, provide students with small prizes, such as team t-shirts or a team photograph.
  • Organize a special team party or field trip.
  • Share your entry at a school function, such as a web fair or assembly.

Judge Feedback

Once judging is complete, your team will receive judge feedback that can help students understand how their entry was evaluated. Feedback will be sent to the Coach's email account.

Competition Results

After judging is complete, winners will be posted on the ThinkQuest website and all eligible entries will be published in the ThinkQuest Library, a world-renowned educational resource visited by millions monthly.

Your team may wish to create an announcement email (or announcement cards), which can be distributed to friends and family members, inviting them to visit the team's entry in the ThinkQuest Library. Be sure to include the entry's Library URL, which starts with http://library.thinkquest.org.
